Congratulations for being original, but it's not exactly hard to do PvE at all, with or without weapons.

I hear a lot of flaming about our trip here...
It's not the point it was easy or not, as shan stated... The point is the stats of weapons made next to no difference...
Weapons are overrated idd , but everyone likes skins!(including me)
This was never meant to be a PvP vs PvE flaming thread,... so pls stop it

I heard some nice ideas here though, for next trips (eg the 8-man weaponless urgoz) and i'm thinking of more things to do

Note we don't do this for promotion stuff, we do those things for fun, as PvE is idd easy,(but loads of fun ^^) and we want to share this with the GW community =)

And Gratz to shan on his 11 million exp!

Why do you even bother posting? All areas have a different setup; how ignorant do you have to be to think PvPers, especially those that effectively run balanced GvG, don't know how to PvE? The fact you seem to think anyone would run a GvG build in UW... well, there isn't a point to it. Nobody would, except possibly you.

Anddd Sid beat me to that
In addition to that :

If you look at observer mode, you'll find out that the vast majority of top guild people are geared with high end pve gear such as the one that a vast majority of people could only dream of getting one day (15k to Fow armors, 4 sets of rare skinned weapons with perfect stats,....) They also started showing that gear within hours of its appearance in the game

The truth behind all that is that top pvp people are top in pve as well. The other way around is not true.

Now that doesn't prevent some pve minded people to bring it to the next level and be better than them at specific challenges (namely soloing areas, time trials, farming pros, some title hunting,...) but the "normal" pve gaming is VERY easy for top pvp players (and for a large population of players anyway)

The problem, imo, was this went in the game discussion area... really should go to screenshot forum

In any case, I've henched southern shiverpeaks without any armor or skills on my bar, so... well, that probably proves something.

I find it amusing that some PvP'rs feel so threatened by a little PvE experiment, they feel compelled to step in and point out how much more leet they are.

And Gratz to Shan on hitting 11 million. How old is that in dog years?

The Charr Shaman in the first screen also cheated... he's still holding a staff!

Neway, sounds like great fun... now do the same in the Deep.

The only thing that makes a weapon worth a lot is the rareness of the skin. If you want a max dmg/max purpose weapon, just a simple green/ collectors with right mods, will do just as well. And the mods are probably not really that noticable. In the end its the skills and attribute points that really get things done.

Is that in overall terms or terms of Guild Wars?Since both are easy..for me anyway.

Now i dont PvP much,im a PvE'er all the way,but when i do pvp i am not met with much of a challenge, and usually its only a matter of minutes until one reconizes a pattern in the enemy and counters it,if i have the neccecary skills i dont have much trouble with PvP.

And i dont have much trouble with PvE either, now i dont go to the HoH,wich is the only place i havnt been yet,and since those folks probably dont hang around there all day long,i figure they also come to places where i do pvp so those cant be much diffrent.

Guild Wars is easy,A-net should give the AI a major boost, make them so strong its near impossible to hench any missions and provide players with a real challenge.

Though..i do wonder how many lazy gits A-net would piss off with that.

Of course you dont need any weapon if 5/8 party members are casters; or are you telling that you're always wanding your enemies to death? The warrior doesnt need any weapon, he would just stand and tank like in the gear trick days. As for rangers, they wont need any weapons either if they're set as trappers for ex.

All you've proved is thats its possible to play with less energy, but anyone who played this game with a 60% dp already knows this

Not always. Once a pug I was in was wiped, and all that was left was a wammo in knights armor. Fortunately, he had rebirth. Unfortunately, with his 60% dp he had only 8 energy max.

We were not amused.

May I ask why half the ppl posting here are walking around with a lit match seemingly waiting for a target to flame???

He did an experiment....they were curious....they seem to have enjoyed themselves (which IS kinda the point of a game right?) He shared the results. I thought it was an interesting idea and am glad he shared it. Thanks

Why is this turning into a PvP vs PvE penis contest? We all play GW we all find parts more enjoyable than others, hence why anet has put different facets into it. Let it go guys.

Yeah I told him to drop the staff, but he said he didn't spend 100k+15 ecto's on it only to put it away in his inventory.

Default Kewl and thanks!

Hear! Hear!

I don't know about other people but after a stressful day of work (a lot of which often stems from trying to coordinate with other people), I enjoy unwinding with a bit of easy-going PvE in an interesting virtual landscape. However, I can also completely understand that others might find PvP more exciting and enjoy the adrenaline high so more the power to them.

To me, there is no good or bad in PvP or PvE -- if you play tenis or chess for recreation among friends, what does it matter whether you won all of them or loses more than not as long as you have fun?

Back to the OP -- I think this is a great thing. I certainly wish that I had read about it more than a year ago... (before I bought some of the stuff I did). I had always thought that it might be the case, but never had the chance of trying it out.

So a big "THANK YOU" to Shanaeri Rynale and shame on those of you who denigrated the work and attempt to hijack the thread...

Amen!

I think this experiment is fascinating and fun to read about. The rest of you apparently too jaded/bored/in love with how awesome you are over pwning everywhere in PvE/other should stick to stroking your collective selves/ego/whatever with both hands.

Great achievement, I might try getting my guild to do this, or some other end-game area with a crazy setup going in.

And what do all the damned-with-faint-praise posts say?

Even if they are self promoting this alliance sounds like they get together and do weird stuff for fun as opposed to others who apparently dismiss all achievements are "theoretically possible, been there, done that, yawn".

I think these kinds of people are insecure and are hostile to anything that threatens their self-induced notion of greatness. Lots of people here are all "yeah... that's no big deal". I don't see any of them posting their own shots of their own run, or doing anything they consider harder, just for fun. Too busy verbally jerking off I guess.

well... you can live without good weapons... eg a BM ranger has to have something to make his pEt attack... some skills require a weapon... and the game is all about skill right?
But for casters... never had probs healing with 30 energy ^^

the main reason for ppl trying to flame this is there own ME factors, which have bben popping up alot in other threads. i suppose they are doing it just to get the threads closeds. try to show and help others and thats what u get from them.
